One more tool

I have made a lot of progress on the GTextUp suite lately.  EZMF2f has reached a new level. ReLiEd has hit 1.x.   But now I'm adding one more tool to the suite.  LaTex2f.  This is a tool that will convert any TeX/LaTeX document to many other formats, much like what EZMF2f does for EZMF.  Much of the code is done.  The biggest piece left, also applies to EZMF2f, is some PDF conversion formatting tricks.  I know TeX can't do everything EZMF can, but Tex can also do currently many things that EZMF can't do.  But LaTeX/TeX is much more mainstream and this is something I want to accomplish.  It is way more common for complex academic papers to be written in TeX as it is more powerful than Microsoft Word still and easier to use.

New update on EZ document tools

I have released an update on the command line tool EzReLiEd.  New version is 1.0.3.

EzReLiED is a search and replace line editor that works on many platforms (tested on Linux, Windows, MacOSX, and UNIX99) and is geared for documents that are usually text, EzMF, or HTML based.

I will have the new source to the whole suite published hopefully this weekend under GPL 2 license.

When I have a satisfactory UNIX99 development environment, I will release certain apps with UNIX99 binaries also.

More thoughts on UNIX99

UNIX99 for the TI-99/4A may be my favorite software/OS for 2026 so far. The OS has continued to be updated. As of writing this, April 9th, 2026 was the last update. I'm quite impressed with it. Enough, that I'm going to start helping by porting apps to the OS. For example, SED is not bundled with it. That tool is must for me. A real world work tool for me... at least in my career.
