Choose Race and Class Eladrin Elf Sorcerers

Dark Vision 60’

•Fey Step: Eladrin can use a bonus action to magically teleport up to 30 feet, a signature ability that often carries additional effects based on their current season

•Seasonal Changes: Their emotional state is linked to the seasons, influencing their appearance (skin/hair color) and mood, with the ability to change seasons after a long rest.

•Fey Ancestry: Like other elves, they have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and cannot be put to sleep by magic.

Key Aspects of Eladrin Elf Classes:
Racial Features: They possess Darkvision, Fey Ancestry (advantage against charm), and Fey Step, which allows them to teleport up to 30 feet as a bonus action.

• Seasonal Abilities (Level 3): Upon finishing a long rest, an Eladrin can change their season, altering their Fey Step effect.
o Autumn: Charm creatures after teleporting.
o Winter: Frighten creatures after teleporting.
o Spring: Teleport a willing creature instead of themselves.
o Summer: Deal fire damage to surrounding creatures after teleporting.

•Appearance: They are slender, typically standing 5 to 6 feet tall, with eyes that often sparkle, reflecting their intense fey magic.

  • Emotional Nature: Eladrin are often described as more "alien" or emotional than other elves. Their personalities can be as volatile as the Feywild itself, frequently changing alongside their seasonal state.
  • Lifespan: Like most elves, they can live for over 750 years.
Seasonal Skin Colors
  • Spring: Typically verdant green, pale green, or rosy pink, often described as "fresh" or "blossoming".
  • SummerVibrant gold, yellow, or a deep "sun-kissed" bronze. Their skin may even appear to have a "fiery" glow.
  • AutumnBurnt orange, red, or russet brown, mimicking the colors of falling leaves.
  • WinterPale blue, icy white, or even a somber charcoal/deep purple, reflecting a frozen landscape.

New Dice roller code

Along side of the many platforms I have written my Dice Roller software for, I'm now adding the TI-92 series to the list. These very portable handheld devices make perfect sense to have this code to bring to a game. I should have code and screenshots soon.

I may make a few D&D tools for this device being that it is so powerful, yet compact.

Dice pickups in Oct 12 at FlatCon 2025

I have not posted many dice pickups in recent months (years?). I'm now at four boxes of dice. These dice are unusual enough to post about though.

First are these two cursed and blessed 20 sided dice. Cursed has two 1s and no twenty. Blessed has two twenties and no one.

Next are these two twelve sided dice. One is character class, and the other monster.

These two are magic adjustment dice.

These two are the 2025 FlatCon 6 sided dice

I own dice like the last two, but these are different enough for me to purchase.

I probably need to start cataloging and categorize all of mine like I used to do.

Yearly Illinois Game Con - my haul!

Darth Duck.  Hey, it's funny.

This is the complete Quest for the Rings (overlay, tokens, game board/map, cartridge) for Odyssey 2. Had it before, loved the game, but sold my childhood copy. They wanted $15. I purchased this for just $10.  I can't believe I found it.  I can't believe I purchased for that price.

Four NES carts for $32. I didn't actually have an original Mario/Duck Hunt Cart. I am hoping that the Defender II is actually Stargate. Also curious about about the Super Pitfall since I love Pitfall and Pitfall II for Atari 2600.

Six Calcite and Quarts geoids for just $5.  Trust me that is a good deal.

New copy of Five Nights at Freddie's for $15 for the Switch.  Felt like that was a pretty good deal.

Just showing the progress on the slot machine game.

I'm continuing to try to make all the versions of my slot machine game better and as much alike between the computers.  I have a "working" version for Atari 8-bit, but still defining the graphics.

Here is what the C64 Version currently looks like:

Here is what the TI-99/4A version looks like:

Started on C64 slots

I know between Sept 2024 and Oct 2024 I would start programming a slot machine game for the C64.

Well, I have officially started. Just wanted to share the start of the design and code.

I finally have something to show for the C64

I finally have something to show for the C64 version of Dragon, Druids, & Dice 1.2! I have the C64 version of DDD 1.2 done and with the same graphics as the TI-99/4A. This took way more work than I could have imagined.  Maybe if I had grown up with the C64, it would have been easier.

Above is what the C64 version looks like and here is what the TI-99/4A looks like:
Font looks different and I kept the C64's default blue font color.

During this whole programming ordeal, I have used and updated the following documentation:

C64 character manipulation:
https://mrgibson.com/c64basic2.php

TI-99/4A general character documentation (bottom):
https://mrgibson.com//TI/TIBASIC2.php

and lastly my general C64 BASIC document:
https://mrgibson.com/c64basic.php

I did have to shift a few things around, but most of the code is pretty close to each platform.

Here is an example of shifting from character to another between the two platforms.

Simple D&D dice roller for C64, Atari XL, and TI-99/4A (Ver 1.0)

I only tested this code with the C64, Atari XL and TI-99/4a (standard basic).
This will likely work on more platforms with little or no modifications
See the note on the bottom for the TI-99/4A.

TI-99 Football!

Finally purchased this game. Wanted it when I was a very young teen in the 80s, now I pick it up for just $5
I had to download the manual. Going to post some of the more important parts:

Dungeon Crawler : Hell's Halls

From the software packaging:

A Perilous Quest
In search of gold and glory, you travel to a dungeon.
It's said incredible wealth hides within the crypts
men call Hell's Hall.

But evil touches all who enter.

Hell's Halls

The Dungeon Awaits

A TI BASIC dungeon adventure for the TI-99/4 and
TI-99/4A home computers. Explore a dangerous
catacomb, collect treasure, and find its evil master.

I found a newer dungeon crawler called Hell's Halls that was released in 2022 by PixelPedant.  The game is only released for the TI-99/4A and for TI-BASIC (standard).  The game cost $10 for the full digital version or free for the first half of the game.

The way the game was created was quite creative, putting as much punch out of the system that a base unmodified TI-99 with only BASIC can muster.

This adventure type game is full of rewards, traps, and obstacles - all making your points go up and down as you play.  Each level/Floor is identified by a color, starting with white stone blocks.  There are four levels/floors and you race against the clock to get to the final exit before time runs out and you're trapped there forever.

The game is mostly about efficiency and survival and the dungeon master makes sure you know time is your enemy.

The floors are randomized every game, so no two games are the same.

The free WAV file can be downloaded here: https://pixelpedant.com/hh/HALLS-MAIN.wav

The full digital download ($10) and the physical media ($25) can be purchased here:

The Atari Gamestation pro

The Atari/MyArcade Gamestation pro has become my primary console. So much so, I'm thinking about shelving many of my other game consoles. I'm beginning to see this is an underrated console. The system plays Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Genesis, NES, SNES, Game Boy, MAME Arcade, as well as several other game systems. With Firmware "1.30c", there are ways of making Odyssey2 and Intellivision games run on the console. Really almost any 8-bit or 16-bit game console. Plus the amount of controllers that people have made run on the console is impressive too. If some could get PS1 and PS2 to run this would be my one console, but I'm not holding my breath as I really don't know the amount of horse power under the hood of this console.

As long as you put the games in the "Games" folder of the root of the micro SD card and use the correct extensions for the BIN/ROM file, the system plays thousands of different games across all these systems.

For example (not a complete list):
.a26 for Atari 2600
.a52 for Atari 5200
.a78 for Atari 7800

.gb for Game Boy
.gba for Game Boy Advanced
.gbc for Game Boy Color
.nes for NES

.bin for Sega Genesis
.gg for Sega Game Gear

for updated firmware 1.30 [vendor]
.sfc for Super Nintendo
.sms for Sega Master System

Star Trek stuff...

Today's game pickup!

This got me thinking, a Star Trek program from scratch would be a great coding project.

Birthday Game Pickups!

I now have PS4 Spider Man and Genesis The Lost Vikings. Everything is pretty much checked off my lists now to be honest. I'm very fortunate. I was sooo stupid selling my original copy of The Lost Vikings in the first place and fortunate to finally find (via the hard work of my son) a version of this game

I also recieved a mini space invaders table top from my oldest daughter.

On my little spare time, I have been trying to update my game catalog that has grown significantly this year.

Huge surprise today.

I had a huge surprise today.  I picked up a light-6er with 39 cartridges and a original CX joystick.  Nine games came with boxes and all with manuals!  Big thank you to Dan H!

Another Pickup and more about last weeks Illinois Game Conference 2024

I finally picked up KC munchkin for the Odyssey 2 this weekend.  My find list is now complete. I never owned that game, but it is the first game I played on that system.  Picked it up for $8 .

I have my TI-99/4A hooked up.  Let's face it -  How cool is it that in 1981 the TI had made a  computer with a16 bit processor and S-Video out!  Unlike everything else of that era, I don't need an RF demodulation.  Here is a photo of it hooked to a 60 inch monitor via HDMI. Better than that CRT TV I had when I was a kid.  But hey I guess it did me fine back then.
Here are some photos of my last week pickups. Yes there are duplicates of stuff I already owned, BUT, some of these are for display and not playing. The TI I had been wanting for some time.  Someone sold it to my for $60 and I could not turn that down.  Tore the TI down and apart - and it was amazingly clean on the inside.

And here are some pics of the Illinois Game Conference in Bloomington IL.  This conference was the best one yet! It has grown every year, so I'm curious about next years.

w-view

I have added a ton of new code to my w-view project.  That said, I have a ton of testing to do.  What is new?  A lot of sub modules.  A GUI...
