I have the the last two week purchases cataloged. Today, I purchased 26 more cards for Topps 1984 and got those cataloged also. Even after this, I still have not cataloged 20k cards yet.

I feel it is time to start looking at the major holes between my 1965 set and 1984 sets, and see if I can't reasonably plug some of those holes.

Really, I never dreamed I would have some of the range of this collection as I do.

I was surprised to hear that 2023 nationals had the largest turn out in the conv long history. The NSCC does not release official attendance numbers, but the 2023 Rosemount IL card show is believed to have attracted more than 100,000 attendees, surpassing the 1991 show in Anaheim, Calif. for the largest of all time in it's long history.

My understanding is that next year is in cleavland and then back to Chicago Area in 2025.

Card Collectors Nationals! I made it!

2023 was the year I finally make the Nationals. I had so many expectations, and the size of this "card show" was greater.

I purchased 324 cards, yet I feel I should have walked away with more. I was able to find cards at better prices than I have had the opportunity in years.

What am I working on?

First, I have a lot of new code for GibPascal.  None of it I feel is ready for release.  Why, some of the completed code, I'm not sure I like the standard.  I'm not sure Turbo Pascal did some of this correctly.  Additionally, for some of the math functions, I'm debating best practices.  February is the first month in a while that I did not push out a release of GibPascal.

What else am I doing?  I am also currently working on two large databases that I would be mounting on MrGibson.com.  These database cover a couple of my interests, just not wanting to release yet until more is completed.

I have not received an of the items I ordered for my Santa Cruz, so I have nothing to report there.

Baseball cards are still on hold.  I have not purchased, organized, or cataloged any for a while now.  I do have some money burning a whole in my pocket at the moment though. (classic Topps and Fleer) lol

Nothing new on dice since the last two sets I purchased summer of 2021.  Went looking Saturday, but nothing I couldn't live without.  It is good to see prices of dice come back into check though.  Maybe baseball cards will also.  I'm also been thinking some on building a new dice box, but still not sure what direction I would take with that.  I would like something super usable like the last and as unique as the last.

Feels like two years of just pushing though sorting 1989-1991 cards. Soooo many of them and I still feel like I'm not close to the sumit of completion. While doing this, I have continued to work on team sets of 50s, 60s, and 2000s. I would have never thought that 2002 would be one of the hardest to put together. Although looking at Topps 2002 Checklist, it is not that hard to see why people would want to hold on to this year.

My 1990 Topps Cubs Team Set is complete, times 2. This set was put together piece by piece between 1990 and 2020. As now complete, there are two complete sets and several partial. I now have spent a week on Topps 1990. I own way more 1990 Topps cards than I thought I owned. I am 99% sure I have two complete sets and most likely many incomplete sets. I'm thinking at this time that I will probably only keep 3 binders worth. I admit I like these cards better than when I purchased them in 1990. Since I have hardly touched them since then, they are in great condition. I did pick up a few hundred of them (maybe over a thousand) in 2020 while aquiring other cards.

2021 Goals

1) Catalog at least half of my 1990's baseball cards. I have many thousands to do. I believe 10-15 thousand cards between 1990 - 1999 that still need to be cataloged.

2) Additionally, I would like to put all of my 1990's cards into binders. That project will be expensive and as time consuming as goal #1.

3) Also I would like to create more videos for youtube and try to make them more pesonalble.

4) Lastly, I will be aquiring more cards, but purchase less and specifically for certain holes in the following sets:

Early Cards/Binders/more

Over the weekend I have placed all of my 1958 to 1972 Topps baseball cards into labeled and divided white binders. I probably have over 1/3 of my entire collection in binders now. Out of binders again.  I hope to have the remainder of the 70s done soon.  Looking forward to doing 1975 the most.  Even nicer are my super sturdy new iron rod steel book shelves I have placed these binders on.  

Additionally, I have most of my Cubs memorabilia up on the walls now!  Need to purchase frames for my flags.
